Kiki the Kon-Tiki

You've scanned the code on the side of Kiki the Kon-Tiki.

She was made in 1990 and first registered in 1991.

She is not for sale!

In fact, you wouldn't want to buy her at the moment - she's a work in progress :-)

Things to know right now

Everyone, please be kind to Kiki.  You can lean on her if you're tired or shelter in her shade if you're hot.   But please don't write on her, or pick bits off her - she's old and doesn't like it.

If you want to say hi to Kiki (and to us - we read her emails ;-), send her an email at hello@hikiki.uk

History

Since 1991 when she was first bought, she has had a long life.  She has been owned by 3 owners.  The first used her as a campervan and from what I've found, it looks like she may have been used in organising go carting events, or supporting a gocarting team.  But she was used until breaking point and when she was sold to the next owner 7 years ago I think she was falling apart.

The second owner used her basically as a hard tent.  Driving places and sleeping in her, but not using her as a working campervan. Fairly soon after she was bought, the trips ceased. Bit by bit things stopped working and were removed.

For the past 7 years she was sitting unloved and unused - with all her cabin wires cut: no power, no gas and no water.

Today!

But I'm bringing her back from the dead and trying my best to breathe new life into her for my family to enjoy and to be a blessing to those in need.

I'm actually finding it a very large challenge!  Perhaps you can help?  Do you know the answer to any of the following:

If you can help with information on the above, please send me an email to:  help@hikiki.uk and Thank You!

The future

In summers, if we are able to, we will be serving some FREE cool drinks from her windows (if the windows are open, say hi!)  But councils need to give permission for these things, even if the things are nice, so sorry: if the windows are closed - so are we.
